Ugandan songstress Carol Nantongo has opened up about her difficult childhood, growing up in a home filled with struggles and hardship.

According to Carol, she, her mother, and her siblings endured a life of misery. Her mother worked tirelessly, washing hotel clothes by hand.
The job was so demanding that it caused her to lose her nails and left her fingers permanently swollen.
Carol also recalls a painful moment when they were evicted from their home, leaving them without shelter.
Fortunately, a kindhearted Samaritan provided them with space in a shop shed, where they spent their nights.
Despite these challenges, Carol Nantongo has risen to become one of Uganda’s top female artists. She now has several hit songs to her name and continues to inspire many with her talent and resilience.
