“Civil War” may only have Captain America’s name in the title, but (almost) all the Avengers are on board — and it could be the best Avengers movie yet.
Marvel’s Latest offering to the Cinematic Universe hits Kampala on 5th May at 3D Cinema Magic. African and American audiences will have to wait longer till 5th and 6th May to see “Captain America: Civil War,” but the longest, in run time, installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has already hit theaters across Europe, Asia and South America.
And like Global reviews earlier , critics around the world are raving over the third standalone “Captain America” film, with some calling it Marvel’s best by far.
Each of Marvel’s big heroes, including Captain America and Iron Man, leap from their own solo movies to join forces in “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. But now they’re back and split down the middle.
By pitting the Avengers against each other, “Civil War” provides the greatest test yet for Marvel’s band of heroes. If they stand together there’s no alien horde or robot battalion they can’t meet with a good old-fashioned sock in the jaw, but how do you punch your own doubts and fears?
The film currently sits at 94 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on a sampling of 82 reviews.
Critics praise “Captain America: Civil War” as “surreal, engaging and funny,” and a “high note” in the franchise, noting co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo‘s deft balance of action, humor and character development.
