Celebrations continue for Ugandan powerlifter, Roy Mubiru who recently won gold at the World Powerlifting Alliance Championships in Ukraine.

We have learnt that socialite Cameroon Gitawo has flown to the US to organise a victory party for Roy Mubiru. Gitawo is Mubiru’s manager as well as his sponsor.

The party will be held in in New York and will be graced by other Ugandans living and working in the US.

Our sources indicate that the socialite has decided to reduce on his parting ways and shift the focus to supporting more Ugandan sporting talent.

Roy Mubiru picked Gold in the full Powerlifting category that combined squat, bench press and dead lift styles.

He also emerged victor in the Masters Class category of 40-44 years of age in the 125kg raw tested division.
