Barely a week after head tactician Alex Isabirye threw in the towel, Bul Football Club has appointed Frank ‘Video’ Anyau as the new boss on a two year contract.
“Following the official resignation of head coach Alex Isabirye, the club is delighted to announce that Frank Anyau has joined as our new Head Coach on a 2 year contract,” reads part of a statement published on the club’s official Facebook page.
“I am delighted that Anyau has agreed to become our new Head Coach. He has an outstanding reputation for his technical knowledge of the game and for creating well-organised teams capable of playing football in an attractive and attacking style,” Club chairman Silver Alias remarked following the appointment of the CAF ‘A’ class licence holder.
It should be recalled that coach Isabirye resigned from his post late last week after serving half of his two year contract, citing a hostile working environment that saw the sacking of his assistants Hussein Kato and goalkeeping coach Bright Dhaira (who has now been appointed to B team) without his knowledge.
Meanwhile, a delighted Frank Anyau had this to say following the appointment; “BUL is a great club with a strong tradition and fantastic support, both at home and throughout the country. I feel privileged to be its coach. For me, this is one of the most exciting coaching positions in the Uganda Premier League.”
The former SC Villa technical director and lead coach during the Jogoos’ engagements in the CAF Confederations Cup last season will have to begin work as soon as possible as the team prepares for the Eastern G4 tournament that is slated for the weekend of 30-31, July 2016.
