Hon. Gerald Sendawula, the Foreign minister in the Mengo government, is the latest person to condemn the lavish life style of the Rich Gang composed of Ivan Semwanga, Eddie Cheune and King Lawrence.
While receiving a delegation of South Africa based Ugandans led by Prof. Vicent Semambo, the King’s chief in Cape Province, South Africa at Bulange, Mengo yesterday, the foreign minister noted that this money could instead be put to income generating activities rather than spending it lavishly.
“Wise people save for the hard times in the future, our people in the diaspora who are blowing money on lavish parties and cars and such non-profit returning ventures should invest much of it on income generating projects back home or give it to their people who are less endowed financially to set up businesses,” he said.
The delegation later presented to him “etoffali” worth 10.2 million Uganda shillings.
