Buchaman Refutes Eddy Kenzo’s Claims About Bobi Wine Plagiarising Music

Buchaman has dismissed recent claims made by Eddy Kenzo that Bobi Wine plagiarized his music during their time at Firebase Crew.

Buchaman, once Bobi Wine’s close ally and Firebase Crew Vice President, instead clarified that Bobi Wine had full ownership of all the music produced under the Firebase label, including work from various artists.

Buchaman revealed that it was a well-known arrangement within Firebase that any artist recording music under the label had to agree to Bobi Wine having complete ownership of the songs.

This was one of the conditions set by the National Unity Platform (NUP) President, which, according to Buchaman, was instrumental in helping Bobi Wine earn revenue from the label.

The Firebase Crew, which helped launch the careers of artists such as Eddy Kenzo, Lil Pazo, Zex Bilangilangi, and Bobi Wine’s younger brothers, provided a platform for many rising talents.

Bobi Wine not only assisted them in recording music but also marketed their work, ensuring they gained recognition.

Despite no longer being on friendly terms with Bobi Wine, Buchaman acknowledged the significant role the artist-turned-politician played in supporting others within the music industry.

He noted that while Bobi Wine’s ownership of Firebase music didn’t generate significant financial returns, he continued to invest in the artists under his label.

Buchaman also defended Bobi Wine against accusations of plagiarism, emphasizing that each Firebase artist created unique songs.

He suggested that Eddy Kenzo might have been uncomfortable with the label’s ownership terms, which could have influenced his decision to leave Firebase and pursue his own career independently.

“Bobi Wine owns all the music we made during our time at Firebase. Taking ownership was how he earned from the label. The claim that Bobi Wine plagiarized Eddy Kenzo’s songs is false. Perhaps Kenzo just didn’t want anyone else owning his music, which led him to leave and start his own path,” Buchaman stated.
