Ugandans have joined a massive #BringBackOurGirl campaign aimed at reclaiming rights to the newest Miss Rwanda, Doriane Kundwa, who was crowned the past weekend. According to New Times Rwanda; “Out of the 15 finalists, Kundwa was also the public’s favourite from the beginning. She walked away with a brand new Suzuki SX4 courtesy of Cogebanque and will get a monthly stipend of $1000 (Rwf 700,000) among other prizes.”
However, Ugandans have now unraveled a new exciting piece of information that traces Kundwa’s roots to Uganda. And not just Uganda, but to Jinja district where she spent a good part of her childhood. There’s scanty information about her exact place of birth, but friends close to the beauty and new face of Rwanda claim she was born in Uganda, though she later moved back to Northern Province in order to compete for Miss Rwanda.
“She’s very conversant in Luganda and in the languages of Lusoga and those of Nebbi district. She was indeed born in Jinja Town, she speaks Lusoga the way Zuena moans in bed. Her real name is Mirembe from Bugembe, Jinja where most of her relatives live. I think she’s a half-caste of sorts, having some Kisoga, Kinyarwanda and coastal or Indian blood. However, she’s now our Miss Rwanda and she’s Rwandan. That beauty can’t be Ugandan regardless,” one of her close friends, Allen Uwizimana maintains.
BigEye.ug will soon reveal the childhood photos of Doriane Kundwa while at their home farm in Bugembe. Rumour has it, she even knows how to make rolex.
