Heroic and veteran Cranes goalkeeper Fred Kajoba has been named new head coach for the Uganda Premier League and Kawempe based side, Bright Stars F.C. After months of speculation, the club finally unveiled Fred Kajoba yesterday morning at their training base in Matugga.
“Fred Kajoba is the new head coach of Bright Stars FC. He was at the club’s training session today. Kajoba will be in charge of tomorrow’s Uganda Premier League match between Kira Young and Bright stars FC at Namboole stadium,” reads a statement on the club’s official facebook page.
The Uganda cranes goal keeping coach joins Bright stars after falling out with army side Simba F.C who claim to have suspended him towards the end of October for indiscipline. However, earlier rumours claimed that the ex-Cranes international was running out of contract with the Bombo based side.
Kajoba who signed a 2-year deal worth 2.5million per month plus other undisclosed allowances will go straight into action when his new side take on Kiira Young today at Namboole stadium with barely a full day in charge.
“I am glad for my new position at such a great club. The onus is on the players, management, technical wing and the fans to take Bright Stars to another level,” reads statement on Kawowo.
Kajoba now replaces Paul Kiwanuka who has guided the Kawempe based side into a brilliant start of the season after winning three, drawing three and losing only one game.
