Uganda Cranes left footed winger, Brian Majwega has reunited with Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC). Majwega signed a two year contract with the eight time Uganda Cup winners after snubbing a close move to two time league winners and 2016 Uganda Cup champions, Vipers Sports Club.
“Look who joins us once again! Brian Majwega pens a two year contract with KCCA FC. This will definitely be an exciting season,” reads a post on the club’s official page.
The talented winger has been a free agent since parting ways with Tanzania Vodacom Premier League club Azam FC in what seemed to be a complicated turn of events.
Early last season, he trained with the Yellow boys before going AWOL after refusing a loan move back to his old club. He apparently had talks with URA FC and Vipers before choosing to reunite with Kasasiro Boys.
The transfer comes shortly after the eleven time league record champions unveiled Morley Byekwaso, as the new assistant manager to deputize Mike Mutebi, replacing a sacked Sam Ssimbwa.
“I feel happy and privileged to work under my mentor and father. I look forward to yet another wonderful experience as we propel the club to even greater heights,” Morley said during his unveiling ceremony last week.
Byekwaso was once a KCCA player from 1992-2001 before taking charge of the Lugogo based side in 2010/11. He has also previously had stints with Luzira United, Ngege FC, Proline Soccer Academy, SC Victoria University and Simba FC where he was sacked towards the end of last season.
