Ugandan singer Brian Avie has announced that he is taking a break from releasing new music, citing political tensions and financial instability as major challenges for the industry in 2025.

In a statement, Brian Avie expressed concern over the current state of the music industry, explaining that many artists are struggling due to economic hardships and the growing focus on politics ahead of the election period.

“I will postpone releasing music until further notice. Artists may not agree with this, but this year is not fruitful musically. That’s why most songs have not performed well since January. There is too much political tension and a financial crisis, making it a big risk to invest in music right now. This is definitely a year of politics,” he stated.

The singer also acknowledged artists who have managed to hold successful concerts before the political campaigns intensify.

He particularly noted veteran musician Bebe Cool, whom he praised for having a well-planned budget that allows him to remain active in the industry despite the challenges.

“Those who have succeeded with concerts—congratulations! It was a smart move before the campaigns start. Artists like Bebe Cool can do more musically because he planned for this since last year and has a strong budget to support him. Even if one wishes to stay relevant, there is a high chance of making losses,” he added.
