Nation Media Group’s Isaac Katende aka Kasuku has urged Uganda music industry’s stakeholders to drop their plans of boycotting the forthcoming MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) in Kampala.
This follows the MAMAs’ repeated criticisms online from stake-holders in the entertainment business as well as music fans.
The awards have also been threatened to boycott by the public because of the political uncertainty in the country escalating from the government opposition.
During his ‘Talk & Talk’ program on 90.4 Dembe FM on Saturday, said it would be better option for all Ugandan music fanatics to embrace the MAMAs for the benefit of their respective musicians on the international scene.
“What is import at the moment, is supporting our own musicians not boycotting the awards. Lets first push these friends to the international platform because some of them have always worked hard to get there,” Kasuku said.
