Bomgi Nutraceuticals is a Ugandan company that started in 2013 and will be officially launching the brand in Uganda on the 1st of November 2015 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

In a press conference held this morning at their head-quarters, they shared their vision to restore health and hope in Sub-Saharan Africa through local solutions based on scientific research and business innovations.

A famous geologist and geographer named Dr. Harold D. Foster discovered that Senegal has amongst the lowest cancer and HIV in Africa even though prostitution and polygamy are legal in Senegal and it’s often considered the sex trade capital of West Africa. Senegal has one of the largest sources of Selenium in their soils and their drinking water is full of dissolved minerals since it has among the hardest water in the world. In 2006 Dr. Foster used a micronutrient combination that included Selenium in a double-blind clinical trial at Mengo Hospital among HIV+ patients. The results of the year-long trial proved that micro nutrition could in fact delay the progression of HIV to AIDS. This information was largely ignored until recently when the Ministry of Health in Rwanda replicated similar results in a 2 year double blind clinical trial using yeast based selenium.

Micro nutrient supplementation can improve the quality of life for many people struggling with illnesses including cancer, sickle cell, anemia, diabetes, etc. Up til now, the problem has been that supplementation is usually expensive. Bomgi addresses this by creating an affordable, high quality food supplement based on clinical research.

Booster Plus is an economically viable solution to address malnutrition. The Harvard School of Public health recently announced that a multi-vitamin selenium combination can have a remarkable impact upon people living with a weak immune system.

Moringa is considered nature’s best multi-vitamin and when combined with organic Selenium, it implements some of the world’s most credible research to help impact people’s lives for the better. Bomgi Nutraceuticals is working with farmers to grow the highest quality Moringa in East Africa.

Bomgi Nutraceuticals CEO Prof Brian Holmes, said; “Right now booster plus is being sold affordably though price may vary with pharmacies and hospitals. However, our goal is to have poor communities access booster plus for free through government partnerships that we are building.”

The launch is slated for this Sunday the 1st of November at Kampala Serena Hotel starting from 1:30pm to 5:30pm and a ticket goes for 5,000Ugx only. Tickets can be bought at the venue or at their offices on the top floor of the UHMG building in Ntinda.
