Bobi Wine’s movie Situka has reportedly inspired ghetto youth to join politics in order to make a difference in their communities. In Situka, Bobi Wine who stars as Mugagga was forced to stand up to his leaders and fight for his rights after discovering the local hospital had no drugs.
In the same spirit, a one Kakooza Richard is now an LC3 aspirant in Katwe and hopes to be the voice for the youth.
According to social media blogger Ashburg Katto, “After watching the SITUKA movie, Kings Richard real name Kakooza Richard a Firebase Army Soldier decided to join politics so that he can be our voice. He’s standing as the NRM flag bearer on division level (Councillor L3 Katwe II). Thanks H.E Bobi Wine for inspiring these ghetto yuts.”
Situka is a socially-conscious film about two lovers Amanio (Helen Lukoma), an ambitious young woman with a passion for politics and Mugagga (Bobi Wine) an industrious young man with a dare devil attitude. The film calls upon Ugandans to stand up and fight for what is truly theirs.
