Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert Better known for his “Bobi Wine” alter ego, was raised in the rough Kamwokya neighborhood of Kampala and he became one of the country’s best-known musicians.
He parlayed that success into a run for parliament in 2017 and consequently a run for president later in 2021 which he unfortunately lost.
Christopher Sharp and Ugandan journalist Moses Bwayo combined heads to direct a real life documentary about the 2021 ugandan presidential aspirant especially over the past 5years.
The film dubbed, ‘BOBI WINE:GHETTO PRESIDENT’ is set to be released very soon.
It was selected among other 20 all over the world to grace the 79th world film festival in Venice,Italy, an event that is held annually to appreciate the documentary cinema.
“I am humbled that a documentary film on our struggle to #FreeUganda of tyranny for the past 5yrs was selected to be among the top 20 films in the world to grace this festival,” Kyagulanyi took to his social media platforms. He added,”I hope this film goes far to expose the true picture of Uganda’s situation.”
Smartly dressed in a black suit, His Excellency, the ghetto gladiator, graced the red carpet event held on Wednesday this week together with a number of top stars in the world where he also attracted attention from the whites who were yearning for the NUP boss’ signature.
Many people all over the internet are anticipating much from the yet to be released Ghetto President documentary, we hope it will live up to their expectations.
