You have all heard the news of Bobi Wine’s manager joining Radio and Weasel’s Sweetlyfe camp. Questions have been asked as to whether Lawrence Labejja will be the dynamic duo’s official manager or not. Well, we found out his actual role at the camp and below we present what he will be doing for Radio and Weasel.
As you may know, Radio and Weasel have a manager already. Although they hired Lawrence shortly after he was fired by Bobi Wine, they made it clear to him that he would not be their official manager. Lawrence who had served as Bobi’s manager for a long time, will now work as Radio and Weasel’s booking agent, but will be supervised by Chagga, the ‘Amaaso’ singers’ official manager.
“Am told that he spoke to Radio and Weasel before they flew to the US and UK for their tours, they allowed him to become a booking agent for them. This means that Lawrence is not yet their official manager, although he will be working closely with them. He will be in the shadows until they can completely trust him and give him a bigger position,” said a source from the Sweet lyfe camp.
Bobi and Lawrence ended their business relationship over money issues. Although the Ghetto Gladiator maintained that they have no beef, sources close to them intimated to us that he fired Lawrence because he was misappropriating funds.
Bobi Wine took to social media to announce that he had fired Lawrence and was quick to note that this was not because of any ‘bad blood’. He posted: “This is to communicate that Mr Lawrence Labeja has been relieved of his duties as the business manager of Fire Base Entertainment. Therefore, from hence forth, all business, bookings, inquiries etc, shall be conducted at our head office, Semakokiro Plaza, Plot 240 Old Kiira Road Kamwokya, and Kampala. Note: This reshuffle has not been influenced by any negativity or bad blood, Mr Labeja remains a family member, a friend and a brother.”
