As Uganda joins the rest of the world today to mark World Press Freedom Day, musician Bobi Wine has come up to create awareness among fellow artistes about this day.
While appearing on NTV the Beat music show yesterday, Bobi advised fellow musicians to stop being intimidated against expressing themselves through songs.
“I want to remind fellow artistes that it’s okay to communicate to your fans through music. Personally, I don’t condone expressions of any artiste but everyone has a right of freedom to express themselves the way they want though some artistes approach me inquiring to know if they can release their songs with fear that they might be arrested,” said Bobi.
He added that he has been able to express his opinions and grievances through songs and some people always think he is attacking the government yet he is expressing himself.
The Firebase boss will today lead a procession with other officials as Uganda joins the rest of the world to celebrate World Press Freedom Day ahead of a public debate.
