Musician turned politician Bobi Wine has big political ambitions.
The “Bikwase Kyagulanyi” singer who was sworn in as the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament on Tuesday has hinted on intentions to contest for Uganda’s Presidency in future.
While addressing his scores of supporters that had gathered at Kasangati Saza Grounds for the inauguration celebrations, he revealed that he wants to make his wife Uganda’s First Lady during his life time.
He made the remarks while extending gratitude to his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi for standing by his side as he canvassed Kyadondo East constituency for votes.
“Thanks for believing in me,” he said. “Before I die, I promise to make you Uganda’s First Lady.”
Bobi Wine, who was standing on an independent ticket, had a landslide victory in the Kyadondo East by-election. He garnered 25, 659 votes to see off competition from other contenders including NRM’s Sitenda Ssebalu William who came second with 4, 566 votes and FDC’s Apollo Katinti in third place with 1, 832 votes.
