When singer Bobi Wine took it upon himself to spearhead the construction program of his fallen comrade’s house in Seguku, many Ugandan celebrities quickly jumped on board to complete AK47’s house. What is shocking is that some of the contributions were fictitious. Even those of the chief organizer, Bobi Wine.
According to the deceased artiste’s father, the news of Bobi Wine’s 5 million shillings generous contribution was only good for the papers but not his eyes and ears. Mzee Mayanja revealed to sources that he has never seen the 5 million from the Ghetto president. Sources intimated to use that the singer actually contributed 800,000shs only.
According to Andrew the chairperson of the construction project, many artistes told lies and never made good of their pledges. Close to 30 million was pledged by several celebrities.
So far, 51 bags of cement have been bought using 1.53m, sand at 800,000shs, bricks at 600,000shs and 1 million shillings on labour. A total of 3.9m has been spent according to Andrew. The 10 million contribution from the president plus 3 million from Police remains with AK47’s father.
Ugandans decided to complete the house that AK47 was building before he passed away mysteriously. The singer who was found face on the floor at Dejavu bar and later pronounced dead at Nsambya hospital was only 25 years. His widow and twin children will soon use this house as their rightful home.
