Bobi Wine has graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Cavendish University.
Bobi Wine shared his story on social media, detailing how he began his law studies in August 2016 at the International University of East Africa (IUEA).
Despite initial delays, he persevered and transferred to Cavendish University, completing his degree seven years later.
He expressed deep gratitude to several key supporters. Sylver Kyagulanyi, a longtime friend, had encouraged him to pursue law for over two decades.
Don Sheriff, a fellow student, provided assistance and shared Bobi Wine’s passion for justice. David Lewis Rubongoya, who taught his first Constitutional Law lecture, advised him to transfer to Cavendish University, which proved crucial to his success.
Bobi Wine faced challenges during his studies. He was initially unable to graduate last year due to missing lectures in one course unit, requiring an additional semester.
Furthermore, when news of his graduation plans emerged, detractors attempted to prevent his progress by petitioning the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). Despite these efforts, he was ultimately cleared to graduate after a thorough investigation.
Bobi Wine credited his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, for her relentless support and encouragement, which kept him motivated. He also thanked his teachers and fellow students, acknowledging the challenges they presented as valuable lessons.
He dedicated his achievement to the Ghetto People, urging them to pursue their dreams regardless of obstacles. He also honored his late mother, expressing confidence that she would be proud of his accomplishment.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude to God for guiding him through every challenge.
