Formed in the early 2000s, the Blu*3 originally composed of three talented Ugandan female artists; Jackie Chandiru, Lilian Mbabazi, and Cinderella Sanyu.

They gained massive popularity due to their compelling hit songs and captivating dance routines that were widely played on the radio and TV at that time.

Their music style was heavily composed of Afro beats and Contemporary Ugandan music and sound with a touch of Pop. Their music was a fusion of various genres, making them popular not only in Uganda but also in other parts of East Africa.

Following their victory in the Coca-Cola Popstars competition, they proceeded to produce the albums — Hitaji (2004) and Burn (2007) during their active years which had popular hit tracks like “Hitaji”, “Nze Manyi”, “Kankyakyankye”, “Kakana” and others.

With the legendary Producer Steve Jean as their main producer and manager; in December 2004 the video of the song ‘Hitaji’ won the Pearl of Africa Music Award for Video of the Year.

Blu*3 registered a remarkable footprint in the music industry, enjoyed great success in the East African music scene and garnered a significant fan base due to their energetic performances, catchy dance routines and unique blend of musical styles that were very popular.

After two years of hard work, the manager of Blu*3 gave the trio of Lilian Mbabazi, Jackie Chandiru and Cindy Sanyu a one-month break to rest. Cindy Sanyu, who had always wanted to travel to Spain, used this opportunity as they had just held a successful concert. However, Mbabazi and Chandiru decided to resume work after two weeks into the holiday. Cindy urged them to wait a little longer but they were unyielding and were unable to harmonize on this issue which led to the breakup of the famous trio.

This gave birth to Cindy’s solo career and different projects for the rest as well.

The news of the Blu*3 Reunion was revealed on Wednesday afternoon via social media and their stage Reunion has been confirmed to happen on Thursday 14th December 2023 at The Protea Skyz Hotel in Kampala. We simply cannot wait to relive the precious memories.
