Ugandan rapper, Navio has said that he feels blessed for being a part of the Coke Studio Africa project.
The rapper who has graced the show for the second time in its three years of existence said that it is really great that he has been able to be there and make Uganda shine.
“Having a Ugandan rapper or East African rapper come back twice on the show is a really good thing. It’s a good look for hip-hop in general,” Navio said. “Coke studio is trying to bring a form of collaboration or a form of unity in the industry right now.”
The Kata singer who will release his new album this weekend also said that being part of the project has given him confidence to be part of even bigger things and other seasons of the show.
“It’s great to be part of a project that’s trying to do that. This has just been season 2 and 3 that I have been a part of, I can’t imagine how good it’s going to be in season 5 and 6, it’s really going to be a spectacle in the future, so am glad I was here during the building box of it,” he said.
Despite Navio’s positivity, his fellow rapper Keko recently revealed that she was not impressed by any of the Ugandans on the show this year save for Juliana Kanyomozi. According to Keko, Juliana who has always been too big for Uganda used the platform to outshine all the other Ugandan artistes when she was teamed up with Nigeria’s Mr Flavour.
This year, Uganda had four artistes on the show. These include; Juliana Kanyomozi, Navio, Maurice Kirya and Dr. Jose Chameleone.
Jackie Chandiru, Lilian Mbabazi, and Keko have also previously featured on the show.
We will keep you posted.
