Mayanja Ibrahim also known as Starboss Big Eye was born on 9th November 1989 in Kawempe division, Kampala District in Uganda. He was born in a family of seven children being the fourth child to Mr. and Mrs. Sulaiman Sempala.
When he was 2 years old, Starboss Big Eye escaped the jaws of death with minor first degree burns in a house fire after it was set ablaze.
He attended his primary level of education at Kazo Junior School and St. Mary’s Nabweru for his secondary level of education. He pursued University education at Makerere University where he dropped out after his second year due to fees constraints.
He began his musical journey as a solo artist and his first release was Flavour ya Kiganda. After releasing his first single, he joined Leone Island Music Empire which is led by Dr. Jose Chameleone.
Under Leone Island, he recorded several songs including his collaboration with Dr. Jose Chameleone called Nkwagala Nyo Remix. He went on to release other songs like Towakana among others.
In 2008, Starboss Big Eye together with fellow Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo formed Big Talent Entertainment, a label the two singers headed. While at Big Talent his first release was Oyagala Ani which was followed by his break through hit song Indicator which went viral in East Africa. He went on releasing other songs like Muzibe and many others.
After a period of 2 years, Starboss Big Eye made his own music label known as Big Music Entertainment and continued releasing great songs which included Mango Juice, Going Higher, Nadeshi, Already Booked, Tusasanya, Self Contained to mention but a few.
In 2014, Starboss staged his first music album launch dubbed Ekikumi Physically Fit Album Launch at Freedom City where he registered the highest ever attendance at the venue to date. After holding a successful show, he was nominated in the HiPipo Music Awards in the category of the Best Concert Of The Year 2014.
In 2015, Starboss Big Eye was awarded Best Afro-pop Artist in Uganda in the HiPipo music awards.
Starboss Big Eye remains a reckoning force in the Ugandan music industry to date.
