Betty Nakibuuka, the mother of Baby Gloria, has addressed the unexpected release of her daughter’s engagement photos with Mbaleka Jonas. She expressed surprise and revealed that the photos were not meant to be made public.
Nakibuuka explained that she was not involved in the engagement plans and only found out about them through social media, just like everyone else.
She narrated how Baby Gloria, her young sister Jolly, and Jonas—had booked a flight and traveled abroad.
Initially, Nakibuuka believed they were simply on vacation outside Uganda until the engagement photos started trending online.
According to her, the pictures were scheduled to be posted at a later time, but they mistakenly went live earlier than planned.
“They had prepared to post those pictures at a certain time, but they posted themselves, and it was too late to take them down. I just told them to let it go,” she explained.
Nakibuuka recalled that she discovered the images during their usual 3 AM prayer session.
“After we all went to bed, I checked my phone and saw the pictures. When I called to ask them, they said the pictures had posted themselves by mistake and had already gone viral,” she said.
