Although Bettinah Tianah is currently featuring on magazine covers and threatening to sue night clubs in United States, the situation seems dire back home.
Following Sheilah Gashumba’s expose on the low pay in the media industry, more beans have been spilled about the official pay for various TV presenters…
According to an inside source at NTV; “NMG introduced a new policy that one should be paid depending on the financial abilities of their show. Basically to motivate presenters to work hard at making their shows big.”
“At the time, Style Project , a fashion show on NTV has no major sponsor. Bettinah Tianah had first been placed on a 50K per show but she bargained hard and was raised to 100K per show,” the source reveals.
According to the new finance strategy, every show is pivoted to pay a presenter depending on how much that show earns for NTV. “By that time, Style Project was the least performing show. That is how Bettinah came out as the least employed person at NTV Uganda. Before it was Sheilah Gashumba at 50K. But since then, it is Bettinah at 100K.”
At this rate, we can understand why Bettinah would want to sue all those using her photos.
