Bell Lager, Uganda’s no.1 premium lager has today announced that it will spend Ugx 4Billion to fly in American RnB singer NE-YO to headline a concert in Kampala.
The concert slated for October 30th, 2015 at Lugogo Cricket Oval will be the culmination of an under the crown promotion that was also launched today dubbed “Pop And Jam” in which consumers will win several Bell Lager goodies.
Speaking at a press conference in Kampala, Mrs. Grace Nshemeire Gwaku, the Marketing Director Uganda Breweries Limited said, “This concert is our way of continuously engaging our customers at their passion points. And because music is a strong touch point for many a Ugandan youth, we had to choose a contemporary artiste that fits the bill.”
She also added that the concert will be unique in that there will be no tickets sold and no entry fees required.
“This will be a once in a lifetime experience and an experience cannot be bought. To attend the concert, all one has to do is simply buy a Bell Lager, pop the crown and send the code you find under the crown to 8464. Send 10 codes and you are guaranteed a ticket to the Ne-Yo concert,” Mrs. Gwaku explained.
Aly Allibhai, the CEO Talent Africa and booking agent for Ne-Yo also revealed that revelers will be treated to a full Ne-Yo experience as he will fly in his entire entourage that includes even dancers.
“Ne-Yo is excited to be performing in Uganda for the first time. We are bringing him along with his entire team of 35 people that includes his dancers. It will be a massive show,” Aly said.
Meanwhile, Sheraton Kampala also announced that it will be providing the hospitality and catering for the musician and his entourage and will also be participating in several bar activations where revelers stand the chance to win themselves tickets, branded headphones, power banks and a host of other goodies.
In the past 10 years, Ne-Yo has produced six albums. His debut album In My Own Words was a bona fide R&B game changer bearing classics: “Stay”, “So Sick”, “When You’re Mad” and “Sexy Love”. His latest album, Non–Fiction was released in January of 2015. The album reached number five on the US Billboard Top 200, making Ne-Yo the second male R&B artist to have six consecutive top 10 albums.
The concert will also be sponsored by Vision Group through the Urban TV, X-FM & Kampala Sun brands as well as Sheraton Kampala, the official hospitality partner and Buzz Events.
