Local musician and law student, Bobi Wine attended the 5th annual convention of the Great Lakes Young Leaders Forum that was held at the International University of East Africa on Wednesday.
Held under the theme of young people and integration, delegates were addressed by President Museveni who urged them to adhere to integration and Pan-Africanism, arguing that this will foster family prosperity, boarder security and African identity among trans-border communities.
Bobi Wine could not agree anymore with the President’s remarks. Speaking after the convention, the “Time Bomb” singer revealed that he believes in the dream of a united Africa.
He said, “President Museveni delivered a lecture on Regional Integration, one of the few things I agree with him about. I actually don’t only believe in the Great Lakes Regional Integration, but the whole of Africa. These are things that Bob Marley was talking about in the song Africa Unite.”
“However, in my opinion, regional integration should be approached from a social, rather than political point of view, i.e, focus on things like a common language, cultural exchange, arts, music, sports and games etc.” He added.
