Bebe Cool’s son, Allan Hendrik is steadily breaking out of his father’s shadow and establishing himself as a standalone prominent figure on the local music scene.

This after the 21-year-old singer, who made his music debut in 2015, started getting recognition for his own music.

The “Omukwano Gwo” singer has received a nod in the HiPipo Music Awards where he has been named among the “Must Watch Talent” in 2017.

Hendrik has expressed excitement about the nod, revealing that this is only the beginning. “This is only the beginning,” he said. “I have something big cooking.”

He will vie for the award with other artistes including Kent & Flosso, Aidan Queen, Byaxy and Minayo among others.

The annual awards, now in their 5th year, seek to celebrate, promote and recognise music excellence in Uganda and East Africa.

The HiPipo Music Awards grand finale will be held on 4th February, 2017 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
