If Uganda has any philanthropic artistes, Bebe Cool must be on top of the list. The singer has from time to time used his influence and his fortune to help those in need.
The latest news is that he has unveiled a new charity organisation dubbed “Amber Heart Foundation” and also donated 60 million shillings towards treatment of children with heart problems.
The donation comes as a fulfillment of the “Golden Heart” concert pledge in which he promised to use proceeds from the show to cater for the the expenses of 5 children to travel to India to receive heart surgery.
Addressing media on Monday, the Batidemu singer re-affirmed his commitment to facilitating more children with complicated heart problems to receive treatment in India as he revealed that the new charity organisation is aimed at consolidating his charity initiatives.
“I have over the years held several charity initiatives, but I have now felt the need to consolidate all these activities under one umbrella hence the birth of ‘The Amber Heart Foundation’. Through this organisation, I will use my influence to attract more resources to help the underprivileged.” He stated.
“My next big concert will be titled ‘Tondeka Ekiwatule Omutima Gwa Zaabu’ and I will also use its proceeds to facilitate treatment of five more kids in India.” He added.
The kids will be traveling with their parents to India on Sunday, with the first surgery expected to be conducted on Tuesday.
