At the start of his campaign, President Museveni, through Bebe Cool, gathered top artistes to work towards mobilizing top musicians to back him for another term in office.
So far so good as most singers have supported Museveni, sang at his concerts, implored fans to join NRM and entertained voters at Museveni rallies.
To make matters even better, Museveni has been pronounced to be far ahead of opponents thanks to Bebe Cool’s mobilization of the entertainment industry.
According to a Monitor article that Bebe Cool shared on his personal timeline today, Museveni’s opponents will have to do a lot to catch up with him. “Like a real marathon runner, candidate Museveni began the race very cautiously. The pacesetters in this case were Amama Mbabazi and Kizza Besigye. The media got into frenzied coverage of the pacesetters and seemed convinced that this time round the Opposition was taking it. Museveni’s campaign message is extremely effective because it resonates with people of the different localities in the country. Museveni is a realist candidate whereas his competitors are typical idealists. That is why some of them are talking of abolishing all direct taxes in a country like Uganda. Museveni’s realist message is simple to communicate unlike others who seem to have ideas from utopia. It makes him instantly identifiable, and makes sure that his campaigning agents can not only convey his message quickly, but are motivated to do it well,” reads the article in part.
