After releasing his highly anticipated Go Mama album, musician Bebe Cool has come out to express his disappointment with some fans sharing his new music on WhatsApp with their colleagues instead of letting them buy it through online platforms.
“I would like to kindly appeal to Ugandans, East Africans, and fellow Africans as a whole to support us in the struggle to uplift African music to the rest of the world by buying our music off on line shops i.e. iTunes, Amazon am and many more or even cds because u want us to do quality works and it’s expensive to do. But if we do great albums like the recent released GO MAMA all the way from production to packaging, and our fans share our music on WhatsApp, then u r the ones destroying the music and our chance to develop coz then we won’t get back the money invested in the good work so we then won’t spend more on quality hence resort to substandard quality and as Africans we lose,” Bebe posted.
He added that Africans don’t have record companies to genuinely invest in their music revealing that they dig deep in their own pockets to compete with European or American artists and concluded by thanking everyone that has bought his music album as he urged others to support him by doing the same.
