Ugandan music star Bebe Cool has come out to dismiss widespread claims that Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz was paid UGX 750 million to perform at the recently concluded Coffee Marathon in Kampala.

Speaking to the media, Bebe Cool clarified that the rumors circulating on social media and in entertainment circles are false. “Diamond Platnumz wasn’t paid UGX 750 million as you all claim,” the celebrated Ugandan singer stated during an interview on NTV Uganda.
The Coffee Marathon, which brought together thousands of music lovers and coffee enthusiasts, featured Diamond Platnumz as the headline act.
His energetic performance sparked excitement, but also triggered debate within the Ugandan music fraternity about how much he was allegedly paid.

Several artists and fans had raised questions about the rumored payment, suggesting that such an amount could be used to promote local talent.
However, Bebe Cool, who is known for speaking his mind on industry matters, insisted that the figure being quoted is not accurate.
While he did not reveal the exact amount Diamond Platnumz was paid, Bebe Cool urged the public to stop spreading false information and instead focus on the positive impact of such events on the entertainment industry.
The Coffee Marathon was hailed as a major success, promoting not only Uganda’s coffee sector but also East African music and unity.
