Veteran Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has publicly criticized fellow artist Daddy Andre, urging him to refrain from making disparaging remarks about Eddy Kenzo’s recent appointment as a senior presidential adviser on creative arts.
Bebe Cool’s comments came after Daddy Andre, during a live TV appearance, questioned Kenzo’s suitability for the newly assigned role, suggesting that Kenzo might not be able to excel in the position.
Bebe Cool argued that Daddy Andre lacks the “moral authority” to judge Kenzo’s capability, noting that Andre has not worked closely enough with Kenzo to make such assessments.
According to Bebe Cool, if Daddy Andre truly possessed qualities superior to Kenzo’s, he would have been selected for the role by the President himself, rather than Kenzo.
The Gagamel International Entertainment CEO further suggested that individuals like Daddy Andre contribute to the slow progress in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
He added that true growth in the sector requires unity and support, not criticism of colleagues.
In recent months, Bebe Cool, alongside other industry veterans like Jose Chameleone, has been a vocal advocate for the advancement of Uganda’s creative sector.
These efforts reflect their commitment to building a strong foundation for the industry’s future.
