With just weeks to his much anticipated “Golden Heart” concert, Bebe Cool has decided to shift it to a new venue. The singer has announced that the concert venue has been changed from Kampala Serena hotel to Kololo Independence grounds.
Bebe Cool made the announcement during a press briefing held at Torino bar on Tuesday. While speaking to media, he explained that he had decided to move the show to a new venue following overwhelming support from his fans.
“I have received so much positive feedback from fans because they all want to be part of this cause and this has forced me to reconsider the venue. I have already sold 40 tables and expect to even sell more but Serena can only accommodate 50 tables,” he explained. “So, I have decided to shift the concert to Kololo where we will build a dome that can accommodate a larger number of people.”
During the press briefing, Bebe Cool also revealed that the “Golden Heart” concert is dedicated to raising funds to help children with complicated heart problems receive treatment in India. He noted that he was inspired to this cause after an encounter with a mother and her ailing child at his gate recently.
“A few months ago, I met a woman with a child at my gate who was seeking my help to go receive treatment in India. She told me that she had some one ready to foot all her hospital bills in India but she did not have money for an air ticket. I was skeptical, but after I verified her story and it was true, I contacted some of my friends and raised money to send her kid to India where she underwent a successfully operation.” He explained the genesis of the Golden Heart concert.
He further noted that from that moment he vowed to continue facilitating more children with similar complications to go receive treatment in India. He promised to send five children with heart problems to India to receive treatment after the concert, and will continue to do so with his every other major concert going forward.
The “Golden Heart” concert is slated for 3rd August.
