Bebe Cool was over the weekend in south western Uganda, Mbarara to be specific, where he had been booked to perform at an awarding ceremony dubbed Western Media Awards. The guest of honor for the function was former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi which apparently Bebe Cool was not aware of.
In the middle of Bebe Cool’s performance, Amama Mbabazi and his wife walked in but the singer refused to acknowledge the couple despite being the guest of honour.
He later took his anger to facebook posting; “Am shocked by Uganda’s politics,i was paid to perform in Mbarara at an event dubbed ‘Western awards’ to my shock as i perform my second song guest of honour arrives at around 11:30 Amama Mbabazi & wife. For God’s sake Mr Promoter am a MUSEVENI DIE HARD and setting me up to recognise Mbabazi could not work out coz it was just too obvious.”
This leaves one wondering whether Bebe Cool will start performing at only NRM gigs or the people who don’t support other parties should not recognize his music too.
