Ugandan musician Bebe Cool while working closely with the Uganda Police Force and Judiciary has secured release of Nigerian singers Stanley Omah Didia (Omah Lay) and Temilade Openyi (Tems) from Kitalya Prison.
The two singers were arrested on Sunday 13th December 2020 and charged with the offence of negligent act likely to spread of infectious disease section 171 of Penal Code Act.
This was after they performed at a disguised concert on Saturday at Ddumba Resort, Munyonyo breaching the government of Uganda’s ban of all concerts since March to curb COVID-19 Pandemic spread in the country.
Omah Lay’s performance in Uganda
According to the release order sheet from The Chief Magistrates Court of Makindye, the charges against the accused have been withdrawn against them vide withdrawal Form Serial No. 4292 dated 15th December 2020.
The court further directs the Uganda Police to release the said Omah Lay and Tems from its custody forthwith unless held on other charges.

Omah Lay and Tems are expected to fly back to their home country, Nigeria in the next few hours.
