Miss Grand Uthai Thani 2017 Rattana Ramchatu has died, just four days after winning the contest.
The beauty queen of Uthai Thani province was fatally injured when a car in which she was travelling with a friend ploughed into a shallow roadside ditch and crashed into a tree in Prachuab Khiri Khan’s Tap Sakae district on Thursday last week.
Tap Sakae district police said that the accident took place on the Petkasem in-bound highway in front of Tap Sakae electricity office. The Toyota Vios car in which Ms Rattana was travelling with her friend, Ms Paveena Aimkosa, at the steering wheel, who was also injured.
The two victims were rushed to the district hospital by rescue workers, but Ms Rattana was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
The organizing committee of the beauty contest expressed its deep condolence in a text posted on Facebook.
