Tonight has proven once and for all that Africa is all about girl power! The two top spots in The Chase finale have been snapped up by Ruby ladies, Cleo and Dillish.
This evening saw Nigeria’s Beverly and Melvin being Evicted as the fifth and fourth Finalists, respectively. When Ghana’s Elikem became the third Housemate to make a fashionable exit from the Ruby House, this left Zambia’s Cleo and Namibia’s Dillish to face off for the USD 300 000 Grand Prize.
The anticipation that had been building all night long in the House was so thick that you could cut through it with a butter knife. The two ladies and Africa were finally put out of their misery, when IK announced the Zambian rapper as the runner up.
This is by no means a small feat for the petite entertainer, although she is not walking away with the Grand Prize tonight but she is still a winner by all accounts. After all she managed to beat out 26 other Housemates to get this far and she also managed to find romance in the House with Zimbabwe’s Hakeem, with whom she was reunited with tonight.
“Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves” was a hit track in 1985 that was a collaboration between the British pop duo Eurythmics and American Soul singer Aretha Franklin and now 28 years later those words still ring true. Congratulations to both of the ladies!
