Batalo East who last year produced the astounding Don’t Push Me (Tonsidika) Dance piece will again produce another highly anticipated Dance Piece dubbed The Gathering at National theatre auditorium in Kampala. The Gathering that will be performed next Sunday at the National Theatre will be presented by a dance crew dubbed Clay.
The Dance group that has risen from ranks performing at several festivals that include the dance Week and Batalo Dance Festival comes to stage to a point where Uganda’s Dance industry has seen great pieces like Dance Choir (Mukirombe) , Nambi and I am Female among many.
For starters, the dance titled The Gathering is about a sneak peek into the humans of Clay: their Lives, Loves and Struggles. It also shows the ten years of molding, crafting, chiseling away.Clay Dance Company is an amazing collection of dancers with a heart for God, who seeks to create dance movement that is like clay in God’s hands, to be moulded into any of several genres of dance. While we had our roots in contemporary modern dance, we have evolved to learn an array of dances and continue to search and develop new dance styles most importantly in the area of Christian living and worship.
