Prof. V. Baryamureeba has been awarded with the Lifetime Award at the 6th Annual ICT for Africa Conference in Yaounde Cameroon.
In a letter to the Vice Chancellor, the Chairman of the organizing Committee of the ICT for Africa 2014 Annual Conference, Prof. Victor W. A. Mbarika commended him for his tremendous support to the annual ICT for Africa Conferences.
He further requested Baryamureeba to be a keynote speaker at the event.
“The decision to have you as keynote speaker at this conference was arrived at quite easily given your proven record in developing and vigorously promoting ICTs in the industry and higher education. We believe participants at this conference will benefit from your personal and professional experiences in ICT,” Prof. Victor W. A. Mbarika, who is also the President, Board of Trustees, of the ICT University in Cameroon wrote.
He also applauded Baryamureeba for supporting the team to successfully organise three conferences in three different countries since joining the team in 2011 as Co-Host of the conferences.
This year’s conference will be hosted from October 1st – 4th by the ICT University, Yaoundé Cameroon Campus.
Over 160 participants ranging from scholars, practitioners to students of ICT are expected to take part in the conference which will run under the theme “Harnessing ICT in Education for Global Competitiveness”.
