Kampala, Uganda — Swangz Avenue has officially announced the signing of a new multi-album contract with award-winning Ugandan singer, songwriter, and performer Azawi, marking an exciting new chapter in a partnership that has significantly shaped contemporary Ugandan music.

Since joining Swangz Avenue in 2019, Azawi has stood out as a rare and exceptional talent. Her songwriting brilliance, distinct sound, and innovative artistry have redefined the Ugandan and East African music space. Over the past five years, she has grown into one of the region’s most influential stars, constantly pushing creative boundaries in sound, visuals, and live performance.

Her journey with the label has been marked by several landmark achievements. Her debut EP Lo Fit (2020) introduced her as a breakout star with hits like Quinamino, Repeat It, and Crazy Lover, which dominated airwaves across East Africa. The momentum was further strengthened by her critically acclaimed 2021 album African Music, widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most impactful albums of its era. Featuring chart-toppers such as My Year, Slow Dancing, Majje and Party Mood, the album showcased her impressive sonic range and earned her continental recognition.

Azawi has also performed on major local and global stages, including her electrifying African Music Concert at Lugogo in 2022—celebrated for its vocal excellence, choreography, and top-tier production. Her artistic growth has continued through hit singles like Ten Over Ten, Fwa Fwa Fwa, Omwenge, Elevated, and Bamututte, along with her contributions as a sought-after songwriter for top Ugandan artists.

Beyond music, Azawi has become a powerful cultural figure and brand influencer. Her authenticity and resonance with audiences have earned her endorsement deals with leading brands including AquaFina, Guinness, and several lifestyle and fashion partners—cementing her as one of Uganda’s most marketable personalities.

Speaking about the new contract, Azawi shared her excitement:

“Swangz Avenue has been home since the beginning. This new contract is a reminder that we still have a lot to create, refine, and share with the world. I am stepping into a new version of myself musically, creatively, and personally, and I’m grateful to have a team that believes in my vision.”

Swangz Avenue Co-Founder and CEO, Julius Kyazze, reaffirmed the label’s commitment to her journey:

“Azawi represents everything we stand for—authenticity, excellence, and innovation. From day one, we knew she had something incredibly special. This new multi-album contract is a commitment to elevating her to even greater global heights. We believe her next phase will redefine what it means to be a Ugandan artist on the world stage.”

The new contract marks the beginning of an ambitious phase of creative expansion. Together, Azawi and Swangz Avenue plan to explore new sounds, broaden her international reach, and introduce groundbreaking projects designed to elevate her artistry and East African music as a whole.

With full creative and technical support from her label, Azawi’s upcoming releases promise a fresh, matured, and globally competitive sound.

This renewed partnership sets the foundation for an exciting new era—one driven by artistic growth, global ambition, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
