When she said that it was her year in her famous “My Year” song, very few related with what she meant.
You know what the good news is? At this moment in time, the world has perceived the emphasized statement in her song (My Year) lyrics.
2021 is indeed a year to remember for Multitalented singer and songwriter Priscilla Zawedde a.k.a Azawi.
With her worthwhile music album “African Music”, she has been the day-today story to tell among most Ugandans, moreover beyond boarders.
Azawi’s songs; My Year, Slow dancing, Bamututeda, among others off the album have edged music chats both online music stores and in the mainstream media.
Well, with such talent there would not be any reason for an awards company not nominating her or even music fanatics voting her favor.
If I have not forgotten, she now holds the record of the singer with most awards won in a single musical calendar.
Some of her 2021 music accolades include; Janzi Awards (Outstanding album of the year, Outstanding Afro Beat/Pop artist, Female artist of the year) and Buzz Teenz Awards (Artist of the year, Teenz Female artist, Teenz hottest song writer, Teenz hottest song of the year, Teenz flyest video).
To portray her remarkable 2021 performance, Azawi took it to her social media platforms on Tuesday with great gratification to her fans, not forgetting promising a blissful 2022.
“2021 just got more sweet and spicy. Album of the year, artist of the year, song of the year.. everything of the year. So thankful my fans. 2022 another Our Year,” Azawi stated.
Azawi attained her musical breakthrough in 2020 with a number of songs off her maiden EP “Lo Fit”.
This was after a few months she had been signed to one of Africa’s biggest record labels, Swangz Avenue.
Since her stunning entry into the Ugandan music business, everything about her has been ‘heaven reaping’.
