Renowned Ugandan Afrobeat and Afropop artist Azawi, born Priscilla Zawedde, has publicly acknowledged her romantic involvement, putting an end to the persistent speculation surrounding her marital status.
Azawi, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, shared the details of her newfound love during an appearance on Galaxy TV’s ‘The Deep Talk With Mr. Henrie’ show.
The Swangz Avenue singer unveiled that she is currently in a relationship with someone residing outside Uganda. Azawi candidly stated, “Yeah, I’m trying out something with someone. But he is not in Uganda; he is abroad.“
Addressing potential concerns about her partner’s feelings of insecurity due to her profession as a musician, Azawi asserted that her boyfriend comprehends the inherent challenges of her career.
She emphasized that he accepts the inevitable admiration she may receive from others, stating, “He has to understand that I can be sexually admired by other men. But he knows that I am there. All this comes with the job I do.“
Azawi further highlighted her commitment to monogamy, proudly stating that she is not a multi-partner individual and prefers to date a single man at a time.
“I am not that person who is a player. One man at a time,” she declared.
It is worth noting that Azawi, unlike many female celebrities of her age, has managed to steer clear of any sexual scandals since her breakthrough in 2020, maintaining a positive and scandal-free public image throughout her career.
