Just a day after the Uganda Cranes qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon, the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) has returned.

Uganda beat Comoros 1-0 on Sunday evening at Namboole to qualify for AFCON for the first time since 1978 and up to now the celebrations are still on across the country.

However, for the AUPL players, the Uganda Cranes celebrations have been cut short as they head into action on Tuesday (6th) evening at the different stadia with eight fixtures to be played on the day.

Leaders KCCA FC will be home to entertain Soana FC. The Kasasiro Boys’ head coach Mike Ray Mutebi welcomes his former assistant and longtime friend Omulangila Sam Ssimbwa, Soana’s new lead tactician.

Live on Azam TV, last season’s league runners up, Vipers will make a trip to the Mehta stadium in Lugazi to face off with home side URA FC while SC Villa will be at Namboole to take on JMC Hippos.

Elsewhere, the Red Eagles of Express FC will host league debutants Onduparaka FC at Wankulukuku whereas Kirinya Jinja SS take on Sadolin Paints in the second eastern derby of the season.
