Ayebare Restytuta is the new Miss Tourism-Ankole. She was crowned at an event held at Las Vegas Hotel in Mbarara on Saturday. Alongside Kulabako Sharidah and Ainomujuni Hopekins, who emerged first and second runner-up respectively, Ayebare Restytuta will be this year’s tourism ambassadors for the region.
They head to boot camp later this year with the hope of representing Ankole at the finale and eventually taking home the grand prize and the title of Miss Tourism 2013/2024
The creative wear session showed that the contestants took time to obtain local products like sisal, and bark cloth to make the pieces. Masiela Fashion House designed the dresses made mainly out of African fabric and the judges got a glimpse of the contestants’ evening wear look.
On a related note, Northern Uganda also crowned its Miss Tourism 2023/24 representatives.
Acaa Pamela was crowned winner for Miss Tourism Northern beauty pageant while Okello Genevieve and Angelo Juliet emerged as the first and second runners up respectively.
The crowned Queens will represent their different regions come 9th September 2023 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
