Scholars of ancient Egypt have a new pharaoh to study, thanks to archaeologists from the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Museum. Meet Woseribre Senebkay, who ruled from about 1650BC to 1600BC, reports LiveScience. The Penn researchers had to piece together his skeleton after eons of tomb robbers had their way with the site, but they think Senebkay lived into his mid- to late-40s and stood about 5-foot-10. With the discovery of a new pharaoh comes an official new dynasty, dubbed the Abydos Dynasty after the archeological site where the tomb was found. Researchers stumbled upon it while investigating a nearby tomb of an…

Rapper Navio unleashed his savage-self last week as he thumped a fan that strayed into his zoned territory. He was chilling with his friends around a bon fire when it all happened. A mole at Mutoola beach, Mukono, tells us the young man, evidently high on illicit stuff strayed to Navio and started dissing his music. The fan who was part of a campus cruise that docked at the island, triggered the beating. After insulting Navio, he jumped into his (Navio’s) speed boat and attempted to ignite it. The burly rapper snapped. One calculated jab sobered the university lad, ironically…

Plenty of people would agree comedians are a bit crazy—but are they psychotic? Not quite, but they measure as having higher levels of psychotic personality traits than those in “non-creative” professions, a new study finds. Researchers had 523 comedians, 364 actors, and 831 people in the “non-creative jobs” group answer a survey that assessed four psychotic qualities, generally: a belief in things like the paranormal, difficulty focusing, a tendency to avoid intimacy, and antisocial or impulsive behavior. Comedians’ scores dwarfed those of the non-creative group in all four areas; actors scored higher than that group on three, but didn’t show…

With the Grammys going on for 3½ hours Sunday night, Trent Reznor thinks the telecast could’ve spared a few extra minutes for his performance. The Nine Inch Nails rocker was part of the final closing act at the Grammys — a set that included Dave Grohl, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham and Josh Homme — but fans didn’t get to see the entire number. The producers decided to cut the group off before they were done and start rolling credits. “Music’s biggest night… to be disrespected,” Reznor tweeted after the show. “A heartfelt F*** Y** guys.” Even one of the night’s big winners, Macklemore,…

Sony isn’t just doing an action cam. It’s doing an action-cam swarm. The Sony HDR-AS100V is actually five action cams in one, or at least it can be. While the camera works just fine mounted to a helmet or shoulder, it really levels-up the experience when you have a bunch of them all networked via an optional wrist controller. Up to five cameras can be “meshed” in this way, letting the user adjust the footage captured by each cam. The cameras themselves are splash-proof, and can capture video at up to 1080p at 24 frames per second. At 720p, they can record…
