Yesterday, the Azam Uganda Premier league resumed with four games played after one was postponed due to the poor state of Nakivubo Stadium.
The postponed game was that between the Blues of Sports Club Villa and Prisons’ side Maroons FC following successive heavy downpours across the city that have left the stadium waterlogged and not convenient for any matches to be played.
Elsewhere it was business as usual with KCCA FC stretching their lead at the top of the league summit after condemning JMC Hippos to a 1-0 defeat at Luzira grounds where Owen Kasule converted from 12-yards to give the Kasasiro boys the crucial victory.
The yellow boys now open a four point lead between second placed Vipers who have lost two games in a row. KCCA are at 24 points from 10 games and are still one of the two teams that are yet to lose a single game this season.
At Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, Bombo based side Simba Sports club registered their first win of the season to give head coach Morley Byekwaso some breathing space.
It was former SC Villa defender Musa Doca who scored the only goal of the game from a penalty spot after The Saints F.C defender Azizi Mubiru fouled Ivan Wava in the box.
The victory lifted the army side two places from the bottom to 14th place with 6points from 9games played.
Meanwhile an on-form Police FC arrested Lweza FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku with a 1-0 win. Hood Kaweesa gave the Cops the lead as early as the 19th minute which eventually turned out to be the match winner to send Police into third place on 19 points while the Kajjansi Boys remained 12th on the log with just 10 points.
The league resumes this Friday, 20th November 2015.
