Arsenal are planning to move for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to reports.
The Gunners are reportedly preparing to bid for the Reds centre-back, 29, despite efforts by his former club Brondby to bring him back to his native Denmark.
Arsene Wenger is considering moving for the player as a replacement for Manchester United and Barcelona target Thomas Vermaelen, say the Sun.
Agger faces an uncertain future at Anfield following the arrival of £20m Croatia centre back Dejan Lovren from Southampton.
Agger is viewed by many as Liverpool’s most cultured defenders, but a combination of injuries and a lack of form saw him lose his place in the side last season.
Barca are long-time admirers of the Denmark international and his elegant defensive play would be a perfect fit for their brand of football.
However, Brondy are also interested in the £12million-rated centre-back and are considering the possibility of luring him back to his homeland.
