Apostle Grace Lubega, leader of the spiritual movement Phaneroo, has ignited controversy after claiming that certain Baganda names, such as “Ndawula,” carry a curse.
Lubega made the bold assertion during a recent sermon, where he stated that individuals bearing the names Ndawula or Nandawula tend to have short lives.
“They don’t live long. When they fall sick, they die in three or four days,” Lubega remarked, a statement that has since sparked widespread outrage.
In Buganda culture, names like Ndawula are significant, as they are associated with the royal or lion clans.
Lubega’s comments have drawn criticism on social media, with many questioning the validity of his claims and challenging the foundations of his conclusions.
Despite the backlash, Lubega continues to enjoy a large following, especially among corporate women seeking solace in matters of relationships and professional struggles.
