On behalf of BigEyeUg, I wish to apologize for a story that was written on our website with very many innuendos and speculations. I take full responsibility and accept that some of our sources for this story may have misled us. And as such, we apologize to Stanbic Bank and Bank of Uganda for all the damages that may have been caused by that story.
As a brand, we promise to be more careful as regards future reporting and sourcing for stories. We also promise to continue upholding the values and ethics of journalism.
We thus promise to uphold the rigorous pursuit of truth and as such, practice fairness, accuracy, and balance. We shall always hold our sources accountable and always ask them to restrain from offering anonymous opinions of others and key government agencies and organizations that act in the interest of the public.
Once again, we apologize for all those that were affected by the story that was rushed without a conclusive opinion on the part of the concerned parties, who weren’t given opportune time to be heard. As the Managing Editor, I take full responsibility for all the editorial errors that were committed.
