APass explains how he makes money from his music

Making money from music in Uganda is not an easy thing to crack for most of the musicians. Although some have resorted to make money from singing at parties, music concerts and the like, most who don’t have the same opportunities end up investing a lot of money and making out nothing at the end of the day.

Musician APass is very different from everyone else. Asked how he makes money from his music since he never appears for shows, never holds any concerts or even never sells music CDs, the singer known for his ‘Didadada‘ song said that it is all very simple for him.

He explained that the music he does is different from what everyone else does. Most of his music according to the singer is meant for the European audience. He said that he blends his music with an international touch so that he can reach a bigger audience and make money from music streaming services like iTunes, Spotify and Google Play music.

‘I don’t sell music cds like any of these people do. I do quality music and for a broader audience. Most artistes do music for Kampala, I do music for Uganda and the world especially Europe. Now most of the people in Europe buy music online and that is how I make my money. I don’t need to go for a show or hold a concert every year to make money.’

There you have it. We hope other singers can borrow a leaf from this and make some money the same way.
